High blood pressure: Don’t eat these foods if you’ve high BP

High blood pressure is an irreversible ailment. That drags your body to a position from where it cannot escape. People who have been predated by hypertension are at the mercy of a strict diet.


Many reasons are responsible for opening the door for high BP. What we eat is one such factor that ignites the flames of hypertension.

Processed Food can cause high blood pressure.

According to a paper published on NCBI, concocted food gets into four groups called NOVA. These groups show the purpose and extent of food treatment. Ultra-processed food or UPF is one such group listed in NOVA. They are the most extensively processed food group.


This same paper on NCBI gives omens of an intimate relation between blood pressure and Ultra-processed food. The study involved 14,790 participants and lasted for 9.1 years. Inferences showed 1,702 incidents of hypertension. Those with the highest UPF servings of about 5.0/day were on the verge of getting hypertension.


So, if you've high BP, then it's better to pull your hands off processed foods.


Here is a list of 5 UPF that you should either regulate or put to a permanent halt.

  1. Soft drinks

  2. Candy

  3. Chips

  4. Packaged bun and bread

  5. Instant noodles


Foods with high metrics of salt

Sodium is the chief mineral available commonly in the form of table salt. It is one of the most abundantly accessible food ingredients in the globe. It's surprising to know that this taste amplifying mineral is one of the reasons for hypertension.


When consumed in excess quantity, sodium confuses the chemistry of blood. Sodium overdosing can decrease the kidney's efficiency to unload surplus water declines. The leftover water acts by putting additional stress upon the walls of blood vessels. As a result of this, hypertension emerges.


A daily intake of sodium greater than 5g/day showed an abrupt rise in blood pressure. This condition gives rise to various complications like hypertension and cardiovascular diseases.


Foods with spacious levels of sodium are as follow;

This innocent looking food will indeed make you lick your fingers. But beware of the traps it creates for your health. Hence it's wise to put aside this bottle of troubles.


Salted tomato products

Tomato being a charismatic fruit with attractive color and luscious taste grabs the admiration of many people. However, just like pickles, tomato loses many of its nutritional values to packaging.

Sodium is once again the common enemy here, which sucks the goodness out of the fruit.


Ketchup

It is one of the foods commended for its great taste. Ketchup pours more taste and flavor in your diet. But apart from this, it is an ocean of sugar with greats troubles hidden inside.


Just like salt, sugar helps in skyrocketing BP. People often on a strict diet make us of ketchup, thinking that it will not cause trouble for them.


If you are consuming food rich in nutrients while at the same time taking drops from ketchup, then you are not only reducing its nutritional value but also deteriorating your health.


Ketchup contains an incredible amount of sugar, about 3.7g per tablespoon. It contains twenty-one more grams of sugar than Vanilla ice cream, which is very shocking to hear.
